George Sidney & Charlie Murray (1934)
The teaming of George Sidney, a popular vaudeville star, and Charlie Murray, a veteran of the Mack Sennett Studios, dates back to the 1920's when Universal paired them to star in a series called THE COHENS AND THE KELLYS, domestic farces involving two families that lasted until the early 1930's. Columbia signed the duo to a series of 6 shorts that were heavily influenced by THE COHENS AND THE KELLYS films.
After the series ended, Charlie Murray went on to star in one additional short for the studio, a solo effort called HIS OLD FLAME (1935).
Like the "Musical Novelties", the majority of these films are not in circulation.
