Mickey (Himself) McGuire
Mickey McGuire was one of the many copycat series meant to rival Our Gang. It starred Joe Yule, Jr (Mickey Rooney) and was based on the Fontaine Fox comic strip TOONERVILLE FOLKS. 63 shorts were produced by Larry Darmour and the Standard Photoplay Company. The series, which dates back to the late silent era, was originally distributed through RKO and FBO.
Columbia handled the distribution of the final 6 films in the series. Therefore, the following list is incomplete, as the focus will be on those final titles that were distributed through Columbia Pictures.
The final 4 titles listed were included in the 1959 Screen Gems Television package. All are available for review through our video archives.
