Stars Of Tomorrow
A series of one-reelers that, based on available reviews in trade magazines, were no more than amateur night performances that were presented in a barely professional atmosphere.
Stars Of Tomorrow #1 (8/1/1935) D: Ben Schwartz & Benny Rubin
Stars Of Tomorrow #2 (9/7/1935) D: Ben Schwartz & Benny Rubin. An October 19, 1935 review in Box Office Magazine states this short features a Jimmy Durante impersonator, a hillbilly band, a sister team and a hotcha dancer "none of them better than mediocre".
Stars Of Tomorrow #3 (11/8/1935) D: Ben Schwartz & Benny Rubin. Harry Jans is the emcee and the short features, as Box Office Magazine describes "a labored quality about the offerings that include a girl trio that sings, a group of colored lads that play and sing, a team of men who go through some unfunny acrobatics and a Fanny Brice take-off of Sally Rand's fan-dance." The review goes on to let the reader know that the reel saves the best act for last, a little girl who puts on a song and dance number "better than most professionals."
Stars Of Tomorrow #4 (11/26/1935) D: Ben Schwartz & Benny Rubin
Stars Of Tomorrow #5 (12/6/1935) D: Ben Schwartz & Benny Rubin
Stars Of Tomorrow #6 (12/14/1935) D: Ben Schwartz & Benny Rubin
